I’m Gill Lyon, a self-taught Scottish artist living in Edinburgh. What began as play - painting wooden garden games for my wedding - turned into devotion, and I have spent the last three years pouring myself into full time painting.
My creativity is inspired by childhood summers in the Scottish wilderness, where my cousins and I played beneath the stars, amongst ancient ruins and the wild creatures that ran beside us, just out of sight.
I have always felt that I was born with one foot in this world and the other in another world, gifting me a lifelong fascination with the natural world, the unseen and the unknown.
I paint to explore the seen, and the unseen. To share moments of deep connection and joy. Glimpses of wonder that expand the heart

To help me develop my skills and realise my artistic visions, I joined the Milan Art Institute Mastery Programme on September 13th.
If you like my work, I invite you to follow me online where you can share in my progress. If you would like to support my work, I'll be releasing selected pieces for sale throughout the course.
For 2026 events, the best place to keep up to date with everything is on Instagram @gill_lyon_art .
I have created a monthy newsletter - if you would like to join you can send me a request at [email protected]
I'll be sharing my newest work, mastery programme progress, behind the scenes, inspiration & special offers.
You can find a small selection of my work year round here, and at gilllyonearrings.etsy.com
I have been selling at events around Scotland from July - September & November - December, but I'm not sure how 2026 is going to unfold. I will be putting more emphasis on online sales as I focus on the mastery programme.
Thanks for stopping by!
